Sept. 30, 2005 I've made several minor modifications to most of the Heroes 5 pages due to the newly revealed info from the Dungeon and Sylvan factions. Sir Charles
Sept. 29, 2005 Well, we finally got the official artwork for the Sylvan town today. I've updated the troops and towns pages with the new art and official unit names/descriptions, and I've also added 4 new screenshots the screenshots page. And one small update, we've spotted a dwelling for the Sylvan town as well. You can see it here on the Heroes 5 Miscellaneous page. Four down, two to go. *grin* Sir Charles
Sept. 24, 2005 I've finally gotten an internet connection again, so I've done some quick updates to the site until I can get back home and assess any damage the hurricane may have caused. In any case, I've added the new Dungeon, Academy and Sylvan troops and towns. As well as the newest Dungeon screenshots. Hopefully we'll have some more updates by the time I get back into town. Until then, Happy Gaming! Sir Charles
Sept. 20, 2005 Lots of updates to the site today as Ubisoft's new Heroes site went online today. Thanks to Jerrie from the Celestial Heavens forums for finding the banners for the Academy and the Dungeon factions. After a bit of digging I uncovered the new unknown town faction...the Sylvan town. Here's a bit of a teaser for each of the 3 new towns. We've got new pictures for all the units of the 3 known factions, and a new detailed historic timeline, I've also added descriptions for each unit (hover your pointer over the pictures) and updated the units' special abilities. In a side note, there is a possibility that I might be out of touch for a while. I live near Galveston Texas and Hurricane Rita appears to be heading directly towards us. If this turns out to be the case then my family and I might head inland. They've already begun evacuating Galveston Island. The REALLY bad news is this might interfere with my beta testing. Durnit! j/k Sir Charles
Sept. 17, 2005 I finally finished the Heroes 3 Town page. I'll also be adding some new wishes to the Heroes 5 Wish List later today as well. Sir Charles
Sept. 16, 2005 Due to the Beta test about to begin and the rush of information to be released before the Beta test begins, I'm putting the Map of the Week contest on temporary hiatus. We will begin it again, but not until after the Beta test most likely. The majority of my spare time will be directed at testing the game. Sorry for any inconvenience, but I need to put my efforts where they'll do the most good. The scores that I have already received will get posted shortly. I'm also nearly done with the town pages for Heroes 3 (which I STILL can't believe I overlooked). Sir Charles
Sept. 13, 2005 The second part to the Demo video from the German Gaming convention was posted today. I've posted 21 Heroes 5 Video Captures from the video. Of special note are the revealing of some new info.
Sir Charles
Sept. 12, 2005 Considering all the trouble the stolen Alpha has caused over the past few months, I've decided to eliminate some of the headaches by simply removing those old screenshots from my site. Even with the numerous declarations I'd post stating where they were from and that they didn't represent the current state of the game, I was still getting numerous questions regarding the validity of them. So I'll just drop them and move on. Sir Charles
Sept. 8, 2005 Thursday September 15th, Ubisoft will be hosting a LIVE chat with Heroes 5 producer Fabrice Cambounet. The chat will be held on http://chat.ubisoft.fr at 11 am Central US time (for the time in your area....well, you can convert it *grin*). For instructions on how to access this LIVE chat, visit the official site at http://www.mightandmagicgame.com/teaser/us/ and follow the easy to follow instructions. We have also learned that tomorrow the Beta test registration will be closing. So if you're not already registered, today is your last chance. They have already received THOUSANDS of applicants, but they've also increased the total number of testers as well. So your odds are still pretty good. The lucky winners of the selection process will be notified within this next week. Good luck! Sir Charles
Sept. 7, 2005 I apologize for the extended delay to the updating of the site, but due to the devastating Hurricane Katrina that ravaged New Orleans, my family and I have been rather busy helping out. But hopefully things will be getting back to normal here at The Genie's Lamp. I've added 10 new screen captures from the official demo video released today from the German Gaming Convention. They can be seen on the Heroes V Video Capture page. I will also be posting the new Map of the Week later today. From now on, the contest will run from Wednesday to the following Wednesday. Hopefully this will make it easier for the players and myself. Okay, the new Map of the Week has been posted. It's Tang Wen En's (aka Fiery Phoenix) To Kill For Power. As expected, I have officially closed the Heroes 4 version of the contest due to lack of interest. Also as expected.....good luck and happy gaming! Sir Charles |
